On the back of successfully completing a range of support services at Dounreay Nuclear Plant in 2017, ENERPRO has been awarded a two year contract for the provision of scaffolding services for Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd.

ENERPRO offer a complete scaffolding service, providing skilled and qualified personnel through its 'manpower' division. All projects are performed under ENERPRO'S Integrated Management System (IMS) and is fully accredited to ISO:9001 (2015) & ISO:14001 (2015). ENERPRO provide and extensive range of multi-discipline services to the Nuclear Energy sector ranging from design to decommissioning projects, supported from our base in Thurso, Caithness.

Enerpro was requested to undertake an onsite survey at the Dounreay Nuclear Plant and engineer a safe way of removing handrails to allow better access to remove contaminated waste.

Once the initial site survey was complete, Enerpro designed a safe method of temporarily closing off the stairwell and removing the existing handrails to ease removal access of the waste. The scope consisted of around 30 drawings that included a 3D model in AutoCAD 2017 along with assembly instructions so that DSRL personnel could easily install and remove the walkway and handrails safely. This high volume of drawings required a very short turnaround and approval, so Enerpro’s highly experienced designers worked 24/7 in order to issue the drawings on a ‘right first time’ methodology in the required timescale, gaining the necessary client approval in the shortest time available allowing fabrication to commence without delay.

Enerpro was approached to design & fabricate a crane limit striker. As a safety - critical item the fabrication & installation of the striker plate was required in the shortest possible time. Client approval for fabrication of Enerpro’s design was gained without delay due to the ‘right first time’ approach of our design team. Fabrication & coating was placed on our priority list, enabling the delivery and subsequent delivery to our client ahead of schedule, whilst maintaining quality through our ISO:9001 quality assurance system and to DSRL Nuclear standards.

Enerpro’s highly experienced design team was utilised to bring an existing design pack to the required DSRL Nuclear Standards in the shortest possible timeframe. Our designers understood the urgency of our clients work package and worked on over 100 drawings at our Thurso office. The work package was completed ahead of schedule which in turn gave our clients time to concentrate their efforts elsewhere.
